Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, or just love vegetables, vegetable seed packets make cute, sustainable wedding favours for your guests.
I originally drew and printed these vegetables for our own wedding last year. They worked nicely with our vegetables table theme and our meat-free menu. They’re also made from recycled paper and water-based inks, so we hope that after our friends and family planted their seeds, they either popped their envelope on a notice board or in a frame as a memento, or recycled them. (Right everyone?).
You may remember that summer 2018 was particularly baking. I chose (probably) the hottest day of the year to panic print the whole lot in my sweltering roof-top studio… but it all worked out ok in the end.
In the meantime, my father-in-law - a long time bowl-throwing ceramics enthusiast - kindly created a set of matching clay vegetables (pictured above) as centre pieces for each of the tables. These made for an interesting talking point, with some reports of guests thinking they were salt shakers, among other more abstract objects.
Bespoke, hand screen printed seed envelopes for your wedding
If you like the idea of creating your own bespoke set of seed packets for your wedding - be they vegetable-themed, wild flowers to sow some love for the bees, or another kind of flower or plant - I’d love to discuss this with you! Just send a message with your ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org
(We had a little sticker on the back of ours with our names, the date and a ‘sow us your veg’ message… I can help you with the design of something similar, if you like.)
Alternatively, you can grab some of my pre-screen printed ten-pack of vegetable envelopes from the longfeltwant Etsy shop - perfect if you have 10 tables of 10 guests, for example.
Finally, I just want to take a moment to marvel again and the BEAUTIFUL flowers that the lovely Laura at Petal HQ put together for us. I couldn’t have loved them more. Captured by our equally lovely photographer, Barbara K.
